Hybrid warfare—one of the most modern, advanced, and complex forms of conflict in the contemporary international system—relies on the simultaneous and coordinated use of military, security, intelligence, media, economic, technological, scientific, diplomatic, political, social, and cognitive tools. In this type of warfare, media and social networks are not merely instruments for conveying messages; rather, they become the primary battlegrounds for propaganda, perceptual, and cognitive conflict. This article aims to present a conceptual model of media resilience in the face of hybrid warfare against the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a specific focus on the events of autumn 2022. The study is applied in nature and employs a qualitative approach. Data were collected through documentary and library research and analyzed using the thematic synthesis method. The study population comprised 23 scholarly documents and sources related to hybrid warfare, cognitive warfare, strategic communication, media, resilience, and crisis governance, selected for analysis based on thematic relevance and academic credibility. The thematic synthesis process was conducted in three stages: line-by-line coding, organization of extracted codes, and generation of analytical themes. The findings indicate that media resilience within the context of hybrid warfare requires a multi-layered approach encompassing cognitive, structural, operational, institutional, and restorative dimensions. Accordingly, the proposed model aims to enhance the capacity to counter cognitive and perceptual operations by strengthening media literacy, institutional coherence, and rapid media response, as well as by rebuilding public trust. The results of this article indicate that managing hybrid warfare is not possible solely through hardware-centric mechanisms, and that strengthening media resilience must become part of the overarching national security strategy.
